Contact Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church (LC-MS)
Fr. Tech was raised in many states, but he was baptized and confirmed at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and graduated from Central Community High School in DeWitt, Iowa.
After receiving a Honorable Discharge from the United States Army, he hitchhiked extensively throughout the United States and Canada. He eventually settled in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It was in Fort Lauderdale that he married and started a family which eventually grew to include five children. Here he began serving the church as elder, youth leader, liturgist, and Bible study teacher at Trinity Lutheran Church. At was at this time, that he began to desire to serve in the Holy Ministry.
He received his pre-seminary education at Concordia, St. Paul, Minnesota and his seminary education at Concordia Lutheran Seminary, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He was a vicar at Grace Lutheran in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. After serving two parishes in British Columbia and one in Alberta, he received and accepted a Divine call to serve at Our Savior Lutheran Church, in Crestview, FL. He was installed in 2003.
Fr. Tech's interests include theology, music, art, nature, traveling, and visiting historic places. As a single man, he now enjoys visiting with and helping people, wandering through second-hand stores and raising his two Doberman Pinschers.
He was recently blessed with and is excited about his first grandchild, a little girl named Everlee Laine.
Born and raised in Elmira, New York, Dee attended Southside High School, graduating in 1970. She then graduated from Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing in 1973 and worked in Elmira for a year before moving to Fort Walton Beach, FL. She worked at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center from 1974 to 1998 as the charge nurse on the medical floor on the night shift. She met her husband Oland (a native Floridian) at the hospital and were married in 1976.
They both retired (if you can call it that) in March 1998 and live in Laurel Hill, FL on 100 acres that they inherited. Oland grew and sold hay for 36 years until retiring from that in 2014. All their children have four feet : two miniature dachshunds - Ginger and Heidi, though she has many children in Christ, from her teaching in Sunday school over the years.
She's spent time doing crafts such as crochet and for the past 20 years quilting has been her passion.
Dee has been a member of Our Savior for over 20 years and has done many jobs in the congregation including her current one as the church secretary since 2003. She considers that position more of an adventure rather than a job, and a great blessing. The congregation is truly her family.
